As a Phlebotomy Technician, you will be trained to draw blood samples from patients in a clinical laboratory or public health setting, producing quality results while gaining the trust and confidence of your patients. The program prepares you to take the Exam for Phlebotomy Certification (CPT) through the National Healthcare Association (NHA) and includes 70 hours of classroom instruction and a 40 to 100-hour clinical externship (hours vary by externship site). This hands-on training will include an on-site Patient Service Center where you'll gain exposure to patient interaction and may complete a portion of the required externship hours. Must be at least 18 and have a high school diploma or equivalent. Course fee includes liability insurance, CPR certification, externship placement and certification exam. Textbooks and scrubs must be purchased by student separately. Preregistration is required.
