Explore the expressive quality of dry pastels and renew your inspiration with this powerful medium. Review the fundamentals of color harmony and drawing such as shape, light, value, depth, movement, proportion, and composition.  Individual attention will be provided. Please read:  Material List A box of assorted Pastel Pencils or a box of Soft Pastel Sticks (recommended Soft Pastel Sticks brands: Sennelier, Windsor & Newton, Schmincke, or Rembrandt) (recommended Pastel Pencils brands: Carbothello from Stabilo, or Conté) Pastel Colored Paper Sketchpad (Canson mi-teintes, Strathmore Pastel paper, etc) ATTENTION: if you use Nu-Pastels, Conté, or Carbothello pastel pencils, you need white or light colored pastel paper! Kneaded eraser Blending Stumps or Blending Tortillons Cotton rags or soft tissue paper Several sheets of copy machine paper NOTE: Bring several photos and documents of subject matters (realistic, abstract, designs, etc.) you would like to explore during this workshop such as personal photos, magazine photos, post cards, etc.
