Babysitting is a favorite choice for young adults looking to earn extra cash, but are they ready to care for children? Designed for ages 11-16, this course explores babysitting as a business with a focus on leadership as well as safety and injury prevention. Students will learn safety rules, how to assess for illness, basic first aid, choking, rescue breathing and CPR for infants and children. Basic caregiving skills, including active playtime strategies, will also be discussed. Young adults will gain the knowledge and skills they need to be a confident and safe babysitter! Participants will earn a certificate of completion to validate their training.
